Membership

Two type of membership for individuals are offered by the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI). There are no membership fee to pay.

‘Associate Fellow’ is automatically conferred as a life-time to an individual who has successfully completed IIBI’s Post Graduate Diploma and awarded the Islamic finance qualification by the Institute. The abbreviation for Associate Fellow is AFIIBI.

‘Honorary Fellow’ is conferred as a life-time membership to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Islamic Finance, Banking or Insurance industry and has demonstrated support for the Institute. The abbreviation for Honorary Fellow is HFIIBI.

The Shari'ah rulings provide a framework that can be reduced to a Moral Code concerned with implementing justice and fairness in all dealings and requiring individuals to commit to minimum standards of righteous behaviour and moral conduct as defined in the Shari’ah. Members are expected to uphold the values reflected in such a moral code in their personal and professional dealings and invited to make a voluntary declaration to this effect. See
