Islamic banking appeared on the world financial scene over two decades ago and has since made rapid progress. At present, over two hundred Islamic financial institutions are operating from China to America, handling funds over 200 billion dollars. These funds are growing at an average rate of 10 per cent per year. With a view to enabling financial experts to maintain liaison and exchange information on matters of common interest, the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance has set up 'The Professional Club'. We regularly publish on the IIBI website a list of persons who may be interested in corresponding with each other through the club. We have changed the format of the 'Professional Club' as operating the existing one was cumbersome. Now we list members by name, area of interest and contact details.
