Internet
Banking Inevitable for Middle East
Arab
banks need to build knowledgeable human resources
around Internet solutions and to take up the on-line
challenge observed a leading Saudi Internet banking
expert. Abdul Razzaq Al Saleh, Head of Internet Banking
at Saudi Arabia's Arab National Bank, was quoted by
the news service as saying that on-line banking will
become a regional norm within 3-6 years and those
who don't respond to the challenge will be "at
a serious disadvantage."
Al
Saleh will address the First Arab E-Banking and E-Security
Summit, which is to be held in Dubai in April, and
attended by more than 250 Arab, Islamic and international
bankers, and will outline the case for Internet banking
and present a case study of alarabi-ebank - the first
Internet banking solution to be introduced in Saudi
Arabia.
