The Institute was founded in London in 1990 as one of
the world's first organisations dedicated to create a wider base of
knowledge and understanding of the
Islamic financial system and help
the exchange of information
between the Islamic and the Western financial system in the UK and
anywhere else in the world. The Institute is also a pioneering organisation in education, training, research, conferences, seminars and publications on Islamic banking
and Islamic insurance.
