Privacy Data Protection Policy
The Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance respects the privacy of personal information. The Institute does not sell, trade, or rent personal information to others. The Institute however, may be obliged by law to pass on personal nformation held to the Police or any other statutory authority.
 

It is important that this Privacy Policy is visited regularly, as the Institute may from time to time change the content or services available on its website and consequently this Privacy Policy may change.

 
Any personal details supplied to the Institute via this website such as contact details will be stored and held by on the nstitute's computer databases or otherwise for the purpose of:
  • Providing the service(s) requested
  • Fulfilling any agreement that the Institute may have with individuals, corporates and others.
  • Providing information about the Institute's services and events that may be of interest (unless the Institute is informed that that otherwise)
  • Evaluating the information and activities promoted on the Institute's sites for effectiveness

For individuals using the IIBI Discussion Forum certain details and information provided by may be monitored from time to time and certain data such as messages sent will be retained for up to 12 months in accordance with the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act 2001. Such details may be disclosed to the police and law enforcement agencies for the purpose of fraud detection, crime prevention and national security. Individuals joining the IIBI Discussion Forum  agree for the Institute to put their names on the site, and to display the messages submitted. The Institute also reserve the right to move or edit messages that the Institute, in its sole discretion, deem to violate the Institute' code of conduct as set out in the terms and conditions  for the use of the IIBI Discussion Forum or any applicable content guidelines, or which in any way is otherwise unacceptable.

The Institute will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect personal information but cannot guarantee the security of any data disclosed online. Individuals accept the inherent security risks of providing information and dealing online over the Internet and will not hold the Institute responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to our negligence or wilful default.
 

Please be aware that the Institute's site may link to other websites which may be accessed through the Institute's site. The Institute will not be responsible for the use of any personal information that is given directly to or are collected via such third party sites. Individuals should read the respective data policies or procedures of these linked websites to find out how they use such personal information.
 

In the course of undertaking the Institute's activities it may be necessary to transfer data to third parties who provide services to the Institute outside the European Economic Community Area to countries which do not have data protection laws or to countries where privacy and other fundamental rights may not be protected as extensively as in the UK. If such event, the Institute will try to ensure that anyone to whom information is transferred agrees to treat personal information with the same level of protection as provided in the UK.
